You’re not alone if, when you ask how their day at school was, all you get is “fine” or a grunt. Here are some questions you can ask to get more than a one word answer about what your child has been doing all day at school:

  5. What’s the biggest difference between this year and last year?

  7. What rules are different at school than what we do at home?
  8. Who did you play with today? What did you play?
  9. Tell me about 3 times today you used your pencil
  10. What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
  11. If you could be the teacher tomorrow, what would you do?
